Overview: Resources for Countries

January 5, 2014

The following chart can be used as a resource by countries to gain a deeper understanding of what is included in the NTI Index and to use the NTI Index as a guide for strengthening their own nuclear security. The chart identifies sections of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) nuclear security guidelines and publications and World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS) best practice guides that are relevant to understanding selected indicators and subindicators in the Security and Control Measures category of the NTI Index. For instance, a country that wishes to better understand the design basis threat subindicator can review several IAEA and WINS resources relevant to design basis threats. In addition, the chart provides references to international agreements, organizations, or other initiatives that are included in the Global Norms category and Domestic Commitments and Capacity category.
